GOOD AND NOBLE HEARTED PEOPLE STILL EXIST IN THIS WORLD

How many of you ever have recovered your lost items? We often listen and read stories about lost items on the way, market or at home. However, stories about getting back the lost items are very rare but an expensive item fallen down unknowingly on the way has more chance of being lost forever. But relax; never lose your hope unless you are sure that someone has intentionally stolen your belonging.

Here I would like to share one of my stories that completely changed my perspective. It was getting darker; I was teaching one of the students at her home. It was 7:45 pm and it became completely dark and in rural village as it does happen that by 7 pm people stay indoor; movements of villagers are not often seen. So, the darkness engulfed almost everything; birds stopped chirping; night creatures became active and making different sounds and noises.

Soon after my tuition got over, I hurried towards my home by Scooty. I kept my lunch box and bag hanged on the Scooty. I had to rush to my home as I had so many tasks pending. On getting the way out I noticed few people were coming. They all held torch on their hands and their pace of movement gave me the idea that they were perhaps returning from far away probably from their farms or works.

While I was going speedily by Scooty I didn’t notice neither knew that my bag with lunch box would fall down. After reaching to some distance, I tried to look at it trying to touch and feel ensuring my bag and lunch were still there hanged. But sadly I didn’t touch and that struck me louder that my items had fallen down half-way somewhere.

After reaching home I again went back looking for it. I thought if anyone would come through, he would definitely find my belonging. So, before anyone comes over, I hurried out with my young brother searching for my lunch box and bag. We went back all the way but didn’t find. Our efforts went vain and I was really feeling hungry and angry too thinking I shouldn’t have kept my bag hanging behind. It was a foolish act on my part.

However, I was thinking that I would get back them at certain point but at times it did come to my thought that it all got over and expecting of getting back would be futile. So, with heavy heart I went back to home.

The next morning when I was going to my office with one of the villagers, I just saw my bag kept at verandah of a shop. I quickly stopped the Scooty and went to take back my belonging. I called out the shopkeeper but got no response. Then all of sudden an old lady looking mid-50 years appeared coming to me saying she has got my bag by the roadside. “Today early in the morning while I was walking on the road I found the bag with lunch box and kept it at the verandah so that the owner passing through the road can see it and take it away,” said the lady with smile on her face and offering me glass of water.

I thanked God and took away thanking the lady too and wished her to have a great health. It is hard to find such lady with such crystal clear heart. Anyone would have loved to possess my bag because it was stylishly and beautifully made by my beautiful beloved wife who had gifted me during my previous birthday to carry lunch box at my office.
