When we are forced to do something, we resist, fight back and become forced to do. As you want your child to be more disciplined, focused, obedient and faithful in your class, but you still find difficult to bring everyone under your control, right? Here you may find some of the effective ways that you can pick up and apply in your class.
Spend time with children: As a teacher you can spend time with your children. Some of you may think that you regularly interact and meet students in your class but believe me such interaction is not enough to build a special rapport with them. Just you need to find out at least little time and spend with students asking few of their personal things such as what is their favorite color, food, about their families and pets etc. Sometimes you can sympathize them if they open up their concern with you.
Pay attention to their concern: Every student differs from one another in thought, ideas, families, regions etc. Similarly, they could have different challenges too. Hence, you must pay attention by listening to them well. Never ignore your students if they ask you something and if they try to draw your attention. In classes these things happen usually and the more you remain attentive to the concerns of students, the more your rapport with them will be stronger.
Appreciate and motivate Children: Have you ever become happy because someone has appreciated you? There will be no one in this world who doesn’t like appreciation. Even the little kids also love it. Similarly, you must regularly appreciate your students, their hard works, home works, or anything they do honestly in the class. This sort of appreciation inculcates a sense of motivation in them. You can appreciate in many ways such as you can write down appreciative notes on the notebook, clap for correct answer and then show your affection through various physical gestures.
Make visit to your students’ home: When you visit to your students’ home at regular interval, your rapport with them will be stronger. You can take along some sort of chocolates or cold drinks and give them. Your students will feel cared and they will attract to you which will further help you in their academic progress.
